Course Description

This training specializes in high-demand career areas expecting a critical shortage of qualified workers. The Electrical Wiring class covers the principles and application of electrical wiring as found in a typical manufacturing environment. Topics include electrical wiring practices, conduit and raceways and requirements for conductors, disconnects and raceways as specified by the National Electric Code (NEC).

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this class, students should be able to :
1.Describe basic safety rules for working with electrical wiring (includes lock out – tag out)
2.Apply basic safety rules for working with electrical wiring (includes lock out – tag out)
3.Describe methods used for installing electrical outlets, switches and lighting appropriate to residential or light commercial construction
4.Demonstrate methods used for installing electrical outlets, switches and lighting appropriate to residential or light commercial construction
5.Describe methods used for sizing and installing EMT and IMT conduit systems
6.Demonstrate methods used for sizing and installing EMT and IMT conduit systems
7.Describe methods used to design and install a wiring system in conduit in compliance with NEC requirements
8.Demonstrate methods used to design and install a wiring system in conduit in compliance with NEC requirements
9.Describe methods of bundling, labeling, and terminating wires to construct an electrical control panel; wire electric motors; interconnect panels and motors; and to wire a complete machine
