Course Description

Begin your health care career by registering for the Pennsylvania Department of Education's approved Nurse Aide Training Program at Community College of Philadelphia.  A nurse aide helps provide basic care in nursing home, assisted living facility, hospice and long-term care settings.  Working under nurse supervision, a nurse aide enjoys extensive daily contact with each patient and is instrumental in updating the nurse on vital information about patient conditions.  While this program focuses on long-term care facilities, nurse aides can be employed in other health care settings as well.

Program Requirements: Prospective participants must be at least 18 years old and provide evidence of a High School Diploma, GED, college degree, or unofficial college transcripts; pass a general physical examination plus a two-step tuberculosis test; and undergo a criminal background check, then submit documentation of these requirements at least two weeks prior to the start of the program.  Visit www.ccp.edu/nurseaide for the appropriate forms.

Notice: Students of the Nurse Aide Training Program are required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.
