Course Description

Adult Education Pathway Program (AEPP) Electives equips adult education professionals with specialized knowledge for achieving success in adult education instruction. Participants will choose two elective modules based on their goals and interests to complete a professional development pathway. As the culminating assignment of the Adult Education Pathway Program, participants will develop a lesson plan and a one-page explanation that details how the lesson plan applies key concepts from the program.

Learner Outcomes

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge gained throughout participation in the Pathway Program
  • Use instructional techniques that are effective with adult learners over distance education models
  • Design instruction to build learners’ technology and digital medial literacy skills
  • Determine how measurable skill gains of learners can be measured based upon the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
  • Monitor learning through summative and formative assessment data.
